Why I love being a frequent flier on United: Even though I haven’t flown them in 7 months, they remember I like tea, not coffee, with sugar and no cream. The agent took one look at my leg and brought me a mug to the table I’m sitting at with a plate of doughnut holes and told me to let her know if I needed anything. It’s like coming home :)

Ever flown the River Visual approach to RWY 19 at KDCA? Looks like quite the fun ride!

It’s fun until that final turn at 400 feet at which point it becomes a little terrifying. These guys were way further to the left side of the river than I ever had the balls to go, though I suppose that gives you a little more wiggle room on the turn.

I only got to fly this approach a handful of times, and they were all in the CRJ200 with a Vref of probably 20 knots faster than whatever this is (just eyeballing it). 20 extra knots feel like 100 coming over Gravely Point.

Ugh, I regret not taking my other lens on my DC trip. I was sitting in a great place to take a video just like this but had to settle for some mediocre photos instead :/
